waiting game

To those of you still wondering, we are still adopting.  We're playing the waiting game right now.  Our agency let us know early in the process that the average wait to be matched with girls is approximately 6-12 months.  We've now been waiting six months, so we're right there....just need a bit more patience.  (Or maybe I should rephrase that.  We don't need the patience so much as the grandparents do.  We're glad they're so excited.)

Quite honestly, the wait has been a blessing in disguise.  It's enabled us to save money and receive your generous donations so that we can adopt debt-free, which has been our prayer from day one.  The time has allowed us to get more situated in our jobs, get our house in order, and check off some items from our pre-kid bucket list.  And we've amassed most of the furniture we need (that I still need to paint) and enough cute clothes to clothe an army.  Call me naïve, but I truly feel like most of the to-do items are related to the furniture that needs a coat or two of paint or to finding some potential day care or pre-school options.

All this to say -- we are confident in God's perfect timing and will get there and to our child/children when the time is right.
